Our business phone number and email will remain the same.
We would like to introduce ourselves and our vision for Casey & Son Horseshoeing School. Jarvis Bowen is a Master Farrier certified through the BWFA. He is also a Master Educator and has a two year Associates Degree in Farrier Science. He was certified through Casey & Son in 1994 and continued his education becoming a Master Farrier in 2000. He has continued to have connections with the school since earning his certification. Jarvis has instructed at the school on many occasions. He has had a helping hand in certifying many farriers who have started and maintained successful farrier businesses. He has owned a successful farrier business himself for 29 years.
Jarvis’ love of horses and shoeing began early. He began helping his father, who was also a farrier, at the age of seven. He shod his first horse at the age of eight. When he began shoeing as a career, he shod horses of all disciplines. One year after completing his schooling, he was recommended by Ralph Casey to go to Texas and work alongside Master Farrier Doyle Blagg. Jarvis had the privilege of staying in Texas for four months and learning more from Doyle than he ever thought possible.
Shortly after returning home, he began to take an interest into halter and western pleasure horses. He traveled in several states and successfully worked with many well-known horse owners, trainers, and veterinarians. Jarvis went on to shoe many All American Quarter Horse Congress Champions and many AQHA World Champions.
Jarvis continues to have a love of horses in general as well as the love of teaching others what he knows about horseshoeing and how to create successful business partnerships between horse owners, farriers, and vets. He will be the full-time instructor for the school.
Leslie is an elementary school teacher who also comes from a horse background. Her family has owned and ridden horses throughout her life. Although mainly trail riding, she does have knowledge of proper horse care including the hoof of the horse.
Together, this husband and wife team would like to welcome you to Casey & Son Horseshoeing School. It is our mission to continue to provide affordable and flexible training to help other individuals to become successful, self-employed farriers.
As always, you are welcome to visit the school. We will be happy to help you in any way possible. We look forward to continuing to work for the established horseshoeing clients as well as meeting new horse owners and providing them with sound and therapeutic shoeing. We also welcome prospective students to visit the school and will strive to provide an exceptional schooling experience for all new and returning students.
