Georgia's ONLY Horseshoeing School, since 1989! Owned & Operated By Jarvis & Leslie Bowen
Our privately owned horseshoeing trade school is dedicated to teaching individuals the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to pursue a career as a professional farrier. Our program combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, giving students the opportunity to learn in a true working environment.
Students receive comprehensive classroom instruction covering equine anatomy, hoof care principles, forging techniques, shoe fabrication, trimming methods, and the fundamentals of running a successful farrier business. Beyond the classroom, students spend extensive time in the forge developing practical skills through hands-on practice and guidance from experienced instructors.
A key part of our program is working with plenty of live horses. Students gain real-world experience handling different breeds, temperaments, and hoof conditions while applying what they have learned in a supervised setting. This hands-on approach helps prepare graduates for the challenges they will face in the field.
Our school provides an immersive learning experience, with housing and meals included so students can focus fully on their training and development. From the classroom to the forge to the barn, every day is designed to build the skills, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed as a professional farrier.
If you are passionate about horses, enjoy working with your hands, and are looking for a rewarding trade, our horseshoeing program provides the foundation to begin your journey toward becoming a skilled farrier.
